Joint Committee on Transport and Communications to meet to discuss challenges facing the bus and coach industry

The Joint Committee on Transport and Communications will meet tomorrow, Wednesday, 8th May, to discuss challenges facing the bus and coach industry at 1:30pm in Committee Room 2 of Leinster House.

The meeting will hear from representatives from:

·       Dublin Bus

·       Go-Ahead Ireland

·       Bus Éireann

·       Coach Tourism and Transport Council of Ireland (CTTC)

 

Committee Leas-Chathaoirleach Senator Gerry Horkan said: “our meeting tomorrow welcomes the representatives and stakeholders from the Irish bus and coach industry. Our Committee will look to this engagement to get as much detail as possible on what challenges they are currently experiencing.

“Particularly we will look for an update on what has been successfully implemented and what still needs to be done to address the recruitment and retention issues that the sector recently faced.”

The Joint Committee on Transport and Communications  has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
